This eclipse season was a doozy! In all the right ways. The insight I’ve gained is still coming together, and I’ll share it with you as soon as it finds its way into words. In the meantime, let’s share a sojourn with Saturn in Pisces.
I wear my heart on my sleeve.
I mean this literally. I am sporting a watch with a brilliant red heart on its lustrous face for all to see. I also mean this figuratively, because every time my watch catches my eye, it reminds me that I can let my own brilliant red heart shine through my lustrous face into the world around me.
Maybe it’s silly to imagine that we do anything else, and certainly there is no way to fully conceal how we feel. We know instinctively when someone is upset; discomfort and pain radiate outwards from our hearts in the same way that happiness and joy paint shimmering smiles. Perhaps we feel an inner tug to soothe the sadness we see, just as we would pick up a crying baby and hold it tenderly in our arms.
The tricky thing about discontentment is that it can be remarkably contagious. The drama of distress presents a distinctive allure, and we might even begin to feel guilty for our good fortune when others bemoan their life circumstances. We might question whether we are truly worthy of happiness; we might doubt our birthright to unbridled joy. We might lose ourselves in a stormy sea of suffering only to discover that there will be nobody left to save us if we keep inviting people to dive in.
This is where we can look to our favorite bulwark Saturn, who knows exactly where and how to set boundaries. Saturn swam into the sign of Pisces on March 7 for a nearly 3-year stay, and it has just ground to a halt in the sky as it prepares to change direction next Saturday, June 17. Stationary planets leave much larger energetic imprints, and the first occasion a slower-moving planet like Saturn stops in a new sign can reveal the fullness of what its time there will offer.
Saturn teaches life lessons as the School of Hard Knocks, and I like to imagine next Saturday as the moment when we receive our full curriculum. In Pisces, Saturn will be looking for us to put structures around our free-flowing feelings, fantasies and faith. We’ll need to build channels that direct our subconscious energy; we’ll need to look for the leaks in our protective beliefs; and we’ll need to learn to respect our emotional tides. Saturn will not be shy about showcasing our shortcomings, so we would also be wise to embrace every perceived misstep as a chance to regroup and move forwards from more solid ground.
I’ve spent a lot of time connecting with the wisdom of Saturn in Pisces these past three months, and I now find myself moving much more smoothly from suffering to grace. I’d love for you to come join me for a special session next Saturday, June 17 as Saturn stops in the sky - please find the full details below, and enjoy this sneak preview of the path I have been walking:
I welcome. I see the pain in my life and the world around me, and I know that I have something to learn.
I feel. I embrace the emotions in my body, and I bring them into my heart with compassion.
I share. I choose to write messages of love, and I broadcast these in all directions across space and time.
