Sometimes I dream about getting a Big Break.
Maybe just the right person reads this post at just the right time, and then I wake up tomorrow morning to find out that I have been discovered. My Substack is flooded with subscribers, my client calendar flows onto a waiting list, my classes and clearings are sold-out affairs, and it’s only a matter of time before Oprah calls me for an interview. It’s as though I’ve been ushered across some magical threshold with no additional effort on my part, and now I can relax into the secure comforts of relative celebrity. Because people like me, they really like me!
I know that I have co-created this vision with my ego. I recognize the pressing need for validation, I see the socially-conditioned desire for fame, I sense the entrenched longing for stability. It’s amusingly surreal to witness these rogue parts of me project such a predictable picture of success, and it feels like my imagination has been hypnotized by the remarkably mundane expectations of the external world.
So while I know that the sort of earthly expansion I’ve envisioned is entirely possible - even in its immediacy - perhaps it has little to nothing to do with what my soul came here to experience. And in my ever-committed Scorpio style, I’m certainly not going to shy away from such an appealing invitation to sink below the surface and uncover what I *really* want. As I do this, I wonder how much of what I find will also resonate with you - and I wonder if such an exercise can help to bring us all more into conscious alignment with the magical machinations of how we construct our reality.
Breaking down the Big Break: What I *really* want
Rest:
I don’t want to hustle. I feel overwhelmed and exhausted by the idea that I need to put myself out there at every opportunity, that I’m obligated to drag my tired self into the spotlight time and time again to court the attention of an unknown and impersonal public. I want for my life to become more restful, more relaxing, more receptive.Growth:
I am ready to learn in new ways. My routines have become stagnant, and looking at the same stuck patterns in the same way leaves me feeling like I’m spinning my wheels. I’m ready to feel like I’m moving forwards, and I’ll accept whatever sputtering jerks it takes to pull me out of the mud.
Delight:
I want to wake up like it’s Christmas morning. I’ve been so focused on manifesting sweeping change that I’ve forgotten to enjoy the little surprises that sprinkle my days with delight. I want to live in a state of discovery, to open my eyes with wonder at what Our Universe has delivered to my doorstep.
World Service:
I have a lot to offer this planet. I see what’s happening around me, how the scale of change on Earth is truly unprecedented. More and more of us are bouncing back and forth between breakdowns and breakthroughs, and I know that the wisdom of my own life experience can guide, soothe and reassure.
Self-Love:
I want to feel worthy. Attaching myself to externalized metrics of success will never give me anything other than momentary satisfaction, and I’ll always feel empty if I keep expecting more. I know that the world on the outside can only mirror what’s happening in my insides, and so the validation I crave must come from me.
Last week we looked at the current cosmic configuration for Big Breaks, and I’m reeling from the way that my revelations sync up with the energy in the skies. So as jump-for-joy Jupiter and expect-the-unexpected Uranus prepare to come together in take-your-time Taurus, I see my words swimming in their collective symbolism. Jupiter helps us to welcome growth with a self-assured smile; Uranus flushes away old ways of being as it rains down surprises from the shimmering beyond; Taurus offers us the patience, comfort, stability and gratitude that anchor us to the pleasures of Earthly existence.
I also see how my Big Break breakdown points me back to some of the universal principles that organize our lives. I offer these to you as you contemplate your own Big Breaks, and I encourage you not to give yours away to the whispering whims of your ego:
Rest is an essential part of creative expansion, and there is no room for more to come in when our cups are already full.
Growing requires us to do things differently, and sometimes we need to embrace unexpected shifts to overcome the inertia of how we are used to being.
Delight keeps our perspectives freshly positive, and it reminds us that we can learn through surprises of all sizes.
Service is always supported by Our Universe, and our highest purpose calls on us to openly offer our loving wisdom to the world.
Loving ourselves as we are enables us to experience our lives uniquely in the richest, fullest and most joyful way possible.
These next few days are especially ripe for sudden shifts, so if you’d like to get more into manifesting - or “materializing” as my wise friend
more aptly calls it - I walk through one of my favorite timeline jumping techniques in the Weekly Oracle. It’s a chance to become more conscious about what you’d like to create, and to open the doors to the best of what Our Universe has to offer.I also invite you to join me (live or later) for the next (free) Energy Clearing for Empowerment on Tuesday, April 30 at 8:30 am Pacific / 11:30 am Eastern / 4:30 pm UK / 5:30 Europe. We will clear energy with the Third Quarter Moon, the point in the lunar cycle when we are asked to release and reintegrate. This time around we’ve got planetary powerhouse Pluto in the mix, which promises an especially deep energetic scrub. Find full details below on how we’ll free ourselves from the confining clutches of fear - and be well in the meantime, I’ll see you next week for a Mercury retrograde review.
Love,
Patrick
Energy Clearing for Empowerment
Tuesday, April 30 @ 8:30 am Pacific / 11:30 am Eastern / 4:30 pm UK / 5:30 pm Europe
It’s fascinating how we learn to fear our own power, and how readily we can accept - even cling to - beliefs that limit our inherently infinite ability to choose how we experience our lives. This month’s Third Quarter Moon comes to us from the sign of Aquarius (check out this Aquarius primer video), where we have the chance to see how rigid mental structures shape our worldview. Pluto’s presence in this heavily emphasized sign gives us a chance to pull back the curtain even further, and invites us to open ourselves to greater trust in the darkness of the unknown.
I’ll identify an energetic block to release for all who sign up, and the group effect will magnify our experience. Register to clear and join live or watch the recording later - you’ll get the full benefits either way. All are welcome; it’s free of charge and donations are always accepted to support the work.
Weekly Oracle
This week we shake things up to jump timelines with the Jupiter / Uranus conjunction! We get quantum with one of my favorite energy coaching exercises, and we learn to release linear conditions that block us from leaping forward into an experience of our choosing. You’ll appreciate what your wish means to your heart, and you’ll also see that it is much closer than you think.
